|Abstract:||Materials pertaining to film, photography, theatre, music. The majority of the collection consists of films, video tapes and magnetoscopic tapes containing footage and recordings featuring the Estonian American community's social and cultural life. Examples include concerts, festival programs, dancing as well as documentation of private travelling and family events.|
Collection acquired from the Estonian Archives in the U.S.A., Lakewood, New Jersey, in 2003-2005.
Kalju Meri (1920-1997) an engineer, pioneer in electronics (registered a number of patents), took a special interest in filming various Estonian American community events.
The Meri, Kalju collection is available for public research.
The Meri, Kalju collection is the physical property of the Immigration History Research Center, University of Minnesota.
