Collection transferred to the IHRC from the Estonian Archives in the U.S.A. (EAU) in 2003-2005. It was processed as part of a collaborative project between the Estonian Archives in the USA (Lakewood, New Jersey), the National Archives of Estonia (NAE), and the IHRC in March 2012. Gristel Ramler and Tiina Trumberg of the National Archives in Tallinn, Estonia, worked with IHRC staff on the project.

Estonian folk dance activist. Graduated from Tiina Kapper Ballet School in Tartu, Estonia. Emigrated to Geislingen, Germany during WWII, was the head secretary of the Estonian National Assembly Center in Geislingen, 1950-1956 leader of the Estonian folk dance group in Washington, D.C. In 1956 went to live in Spain, in 1960 returned to Washington, D.C. In 2007, Camilla and Leo Kuus Fund was established at the Estonian National Museum. The fund's purpose is to support Estonian National Museum's activities. The fund also supports students and scientists researching Estonian culture and folklore. Husband Leo Kuus (05.05.1915 – 29.07.2005) married 1956 in Tangier, Morocco.
