PROVENANCE

Collection transferred to the IHRC from the Estonian Archives in the U.S.A. (EAU) in 2003-2005. It was processed as part of a collaborative project between the Estonian Archives in the USA (Lakewood, NJ), the National Archives of Estonia (NAE), and the IHRC in March 2009. Gristel Ramler and Birgit Nurme of the National Archives in Tallin, Estonia, worked with IHRC staff on the project.

DESCRIPTION OF THE COLLECTION

Collection is organized into nine folders: 1. Collected biographical data (clippings and copies), correspondence with EAU in Lakewood; three sheets of biography by O. Härm 2. Matk Mälestuste Maale I: Memoirs with original documents (all personal documents, identity certificates, etc.) and original photos by Oskar and Hilda Härm, from the beginning of XX century to 1944, 490 pages (manuscript in typewriting in Estonian) 3. Matk Mälestuste Maale II (Saksamaal): Memoirs with original documents (all personal documents, identity certificates, etc.) by Oskar and Hilda Härm, 1944-1951, 180 pages (manuscript in typewriting in Estonian) 4. Matk Mälestuste Maale III (USA): Memoirs with clippings and bulletins by Oskar and Hilda Härm, from 1951-1983, 139 pages + collected materials about Ugala Theatre in Estonia (manuscript in typewriting in Estonian) 5. Matk Mälestuste Maale IV (USA): Materials about Heino and Endel Härm, compiled by O. and H. Härm (sons) 1943-1944, 1972: correspondence, diary notes, poems, drawings, two small Estonian flags from WWII period 6. Mälestusi Viljandi teatrist "Ugala" ja tema tegelastest V: Memoirs and collected materials (correspondence, copies of newspapers, clippings, original photos) about Estonian theatre Ugala [from the beginning of XX century to 1983], 347 pages 7. Hilda Härm's membership cards of ACWA, payroll sheets, correspondence related to retirement pension (1951-1975) 8. Magazines and books (6) 9.
