PROVENANCE

Collection transferred to the IHRC from the Estonian Archives in the U.S.A. (EAU) in 2003-2005. It was processed as part of a collaborative project between the Estonian Archives in the USA (Lakewood, NJ), the National Archives of Estonia (NAE), and the IHRC in March 2009. Gristel Ramler and Birgit Nurme of the National Archives in Tallin, Estonia, worked with IHRC staff on the project.

03.10.1913 - 23.03.1988 USA Born in Võõpsu, Põlvamaa, Estonia. Wife: Minna Hirmo (1902-1964); brother: Hennu Hirmo (1909). Emigrated to Germany in 1945 and to the U.S. in 1951


DESCRIPTION OF THE COLLECTION

Collection is organized into six folders: 1. Copies from newspapers 2. Collection of poetry by H. Hirmo, 1986 (manuscript, typewriting) 3. Short plays "Õnnelik leid", "Vabaduse iha" by H. Hirmo (manuscripts, typewriting) 4. Collection of songs 1 (lyrics, music sheets) 5. Same 2 6. "Võõpsu läbi aegade" (copies of articles from newspaper "Koit" in 1984 by Hennu Hirmo (histroy of Võõpsu))
