PROVENANCE

Collection transferred to the IHRC from the Estonian Archives in the U.S.A. (EAU) in 2003-2005. It was processed as part of a collaborative project between the Estonian Archives in the USA (Lakewood, NJ), the National Archives of Estonia (NAE), and the IHRC in March 2009. Gristel Ramler and Birgit Nurme of the National Archives in Tallin, Estonia, worked with IHRC staff on the project.

DESCRIPTION OF THE COLLECTION

Collection is organized into three folders: 1. Stamps issued during the Russian and German occupation 1919, 1941-1944, 1950-1973 2. Stamps of Estonia and other Baltic states from DP camps in Germany with historical descriptions 1946-1947; Stamps and envelopes of freedom demands for Baltic states 1963-1975; Collected stamps and envelopes from Estonia and other Baltic states, stamps and envelopes from different countries 1910-1975; 3. Postage stamps, envelopes and examples of post-office stamps of different countries1960-1975; One sheet of different Estonian brands
