Collection transferred to the IHRC from the Estonian Archives in the U.S.A., Lakewood, New Jersey, in 2003-2005. Donated by Silvia Hinnom. It was processed as part of a collaborative project between the Estonian Archives in the USA (Lakewood, NJ), the National Archives of Estonia (NAE), and the IHRC in March 2009. Gristel Ramler and Birgit Nurme of the National Archives in Tallin, Estonia, worked with IHRC staff on the project.
Hinnom, Arnold-Johannes 05.01.1896 - 09.10.1989 Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Born in Varangu, Järvamaa, Estonia. Participated in the Estonian War of Independence (colonel). Daughter Silvia Hinnom donated this collection to EAU
Collection is organized into three folders: 1. Arnold Hinnom's correspondence with Eesti Kirjanike Kooperatiiv (Estonian publishing company in Sweden) and several persons, clippings - related to publishing his memoirs about the Estonian War of Independence 2. Magazines "Baltische Gesellschaft in Deutschland" 1956 (2-5) 3. "Rahuleping Eesti ja Venemaa vahel" Tartu, 1920 (print) 14 photos of Estonia (Nylander), song sheets from DP camps, prints from this collection housed in Lakewood; 17.03.2009
