Collection acquired from M.J. Ekstrand of Weymouth, MA, in April 2001.
In, 1949-1950 Martha Jane Ekstrand served as a nurse on the US Army Transport ship General Harry Taylor, used at that time to transport European post-WWII displaced persons from camps in Germany and Austria to the United States. She has also been active (as Trustee/Secretary) in the Francis Maria Foundation for Justice and Peace.
