| Abstract: | Collection consists of personal papers and correspondence of Osvald Akmentins. Born in 1914 in Latvia, Akmentins immigrated to the United States after World War II. Included are also newspaper clippings, pamphlets and photographs. Akmentins was a life- long freedom fighter for what were the captive nations of Europe. He was active in the Boston area, his involvement was predominantly in the struggle for free Baltic states and Poland. | |
